Medicare fraud is on the rise, and those looking for ways to scam some quick cash from the elderly seems to be a growing list. With many confused about the ongoing talks from government officials, more people have fallen for these scams than ever before. Living like a broke college student when you are in your later years seems like strange advice, but in all reality most people could easily use some more money in a rainy day fund. Emergencies and other large financial burdens do happen, and as one ages they can be dipping more into their nest egg than they think they are. Saving may be difficult for some, but no matter how much (or little) you make, more than likely you can afford to still put some away.
While those little luxuries we all enjoy here are there is fun for a while but, before splurging it may be wise to think if it is really worth it, or needed. That isn’t so say that you can never treat yourself occasionally but remember that it is just that, an occasional treat.
“Whenever I would complain about not having the newest coolest clothes or whatever when I was younger, my grandmother would always say, ‘We have everything we need and most of what we want, too.’ That would make me realize that even though we weren’t the richest family in town, we really did have plenty. I still think about that today when I’m lusting over some ridiculously expensive item at the mall. It makes me remember that I have a place to live, plenty to eat and a great family as well as much of the stuff I want. I (usually) put the item back on the shelf and walk away satisfied with what I already have.”

Having some extra financial advice may be able to help you get ahead again, or to begin with.
