Help for the Elderly in The Heat Wave

It has been the hottest month (if not year) in a very long time, with the  considerably large heat wave sweeping the nation.  While for some this means more playtime in the pool or some nice, cooler areas for others the heat can just spell disaster.  Sadly, more issues can be brought on or aggravated by the heat than many realize and staying safe is is much more important ant and may require more than many may think.

Heat Safety Tips from the Red Cross

There is still a while to go for the warmer months, and there have already been numerous reports of heat-related illness and deaths from the weather. Mostly the elderly and young children are most effected, but with the recent heat waves sweeping the nation, watching out for others and your own safety is increasingly important.

Soaring Temperatures Cost Lives

Officials and others are warning that the high temperatures of these warmer months are costing many more lives than anyone would prefer to see.  While the average advice is aimed more at parents of young children, the same can be said about those caring for the elderly as well.
