Staying active and exercise is known to be good for you, but it may also help to make pain more manageable. From arthritis to other conditions, exercising regularly may be able to keep pain under control. Exercise releases endorphins that make you feel good, but also may help with other issues as well.
Some good starter exercises are aerobics, bike riding, and even taking a walk around the block. You don’t have to join a gym to exercise after all, and at least 20 minutes a few times a week may show some improvements after a relatively short while. Taking it slowly and building up is a great way to start, especially if you may not have exercised in a while.
It may help to have an activity buddy to exercise with, and having that companion can also help you push yourself on those days you may not entirely feel like it. There has been a lot of suggestion that those who exercise with a partner (and a positive attitude) are more likely to keep it up.
